Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Scott County Hospital is seeking a qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team on a night shift basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the hospital's mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Provide Direct Patient Care: As the primary Emergency Department nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Compliance and Quality: You will serve as a role model for staff in compliance with all established departmental policies and procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain a positive working relationship and open channel of communication with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately and completely document care and assessments based on the standards of care and practice, ongoing findings, patient response to interventions, and progress toward outcomes.
- Environmental Safety: Ensure a safe environment by recognizing, eliminating, and/or reporting hazards.
- Patient Experience: Constantly strive to provide a positive patient experience by actively listening to patients' concerns and addressing them in a timely and professional manner.
- Trauma Team Participation: Actively participate as a member of the Trauma team to ensure effective care delivery in emergency situations.
- Equipment Management: Ensure rooms are adequately stocked and prepared at the beginning of each shift and that equipment is functional.
- Communication and Updates: Keep Physicians, patients, and families informed in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Supervisor Updates: Keep Supervisor informed of all patient concerns/complaints.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Nursing Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, and mandatory reporting requirements in the ED.
- Nursing Skills: Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for the care of specific medical cases.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has a work permit from the State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC are required. PALS certification must be completed within 6 months of employment. ENPC certification is preferred.
