Position Overview

Role Summary:

As a Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of managing a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional service in the tax preparation sector. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the operations of a tax office, ensuring that the team meets its objectives and provides an outstanding experience for clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with upper management to develop and execute strategies for office growth, including fostering local partnerships and enhancing community engagement.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process for new team members within the tax office.
  • Act as the main point of contact for resolving escalated client service issues.
  • Ensure efficient scheduling of client appointments and address any scheduling conflicts.
  • Supervise daily operations to guarantee that all tasks are completed on time, maintaining high standards of quality and meeting overall objectives.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere by mentoring and coaching staff on operational procedures while recognizing exemplary performance.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to share important updates and information with tax office personnel.
  • Manage employee schedules and oversee accurate timekeeping and overtime tracking.
  • Prepare tax returns when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, team leadership, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supervising or managing staff.
  • Successful completion of relevant tax knowledge assessments or training courses.
  • Ability to fulfill all IRS and state requirements, including ongoing education.
  • Strong customer-focused approach with excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Resilient, motivated, and able to thrive under pressure.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule of 40 hours per week, adapting to business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than 2 years of experience as a Tax Professional.

This position is with an independently owned and operated franchise office affiliated with H&R Block. The franchisee is responsible for hiring decisions, and inquiries regarding employment should be directed to the franchisee.
