We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist to join our Cardiovascular team at UT Health Tyler.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing veno-venous (V-V), venoarterial (V-A) ECMO, Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR), and ECMO transport. As an ECMO Specialist, you will function independently following standing ECMO orders and parameters while under the direction of the ECMO Physician and ECMO APP. This role involves providing expert care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Manage veno-venous (V-V) and venoarterial (V-A) ECMO circuits in critically ill patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in research, education, and precepting as part of the program's development
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required
  • Succesful completion of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and have sucessfully completed the registry exammination for advanced level practitioners and be recognized as a Registered Respiratiry Therapist(RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care(NRBC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC) and Certified ECMO Specialist - Adult (CES-A) certification are a plus

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
