Job Summary

As a CAT Scan Technologist at Yale New Haven Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical imaging services to our patients. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform warm-up calibration procedures to ensure the CAT Scan equipment is ready for patient imaging.
• Set up and operate the CAT Scan equipment to produce accurate and high-quality images for diagnosis.
• Select and operate equipment as directed for patient exams, following established department procedures.
• Obtain pertinent clinical information from patients, explain procedures, and encourage cooperation through quality patient care.
• Consult with radiologists in charge for required exams and set up prior to patient imaging.
• Schedule and coordinate patient scheduling, preparation, and transportation.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked work area, and perform clerical duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of experience as an R.T. (R) with proven CAT Scan experience preferred.
• Registered R.T. (R) licensed in the State of Connecticut.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. They may frequently be required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell. They may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of radiation. They are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
