Clinical Admissions Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admissions Counselor PRN to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in facilitating the intake, admission, and utilization review process for incoming patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform insurance benefit verifications and disseminate information to patients, their families, and internal staff.
- Provide accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status in the admission and utilization process.
- Respond to inquiries about the facility within facility policy timeframes.
- Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, communicating recommendations to patients or their families.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
- Provide education to patients and their families throughout their stay.
- Perform ongoing assessments of physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial needs of patients and implement crisis intervention and referral.
- Provide education regarding healthcare and social resource systems to empower patients and their families to access resources independently.
- Master's degree in a Therapeutic Counseling, Behavioral Science, Social Work, or related field.
- Three plus years of mental/behavioral health experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity.
- Experience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care assessments, and utilization.
