Senior Electronics and Controls Specialist

Department of the Navy - Agency Wide is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics and Controls Specialist to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing industrial electronic controlled equipment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, testing, and installing industrial electronic controlled equipment. They will test, repair, and replace components and parts such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, regulated power supplies, relays, switches, and motor drive controls.
Key Responsibilities- Align and calibrate equipment using calibration standards and alignment procedures when available, occasionally aligning by using schematics and available technical data.
- Inspect completed and in-process work for quality of workmanship and adherence to requirements, specifications, standards, plans, and schedules.
- Perform reviews of documents associated with completed work and trade processes to ensure they are filled out adequately and accurately.
- Provide appropriate skills training utilizing shop training tools or spaces such as mock-ups, in-shop work areas, or facilities.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination and complete annual physicals.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Work is performed in shops and aboard ships and submarines which requires working from uncomfortable and cramped positions which involve stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders.
- This position requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires rotating shift work.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position requires the ability to climb vertical ladders and work atop cranes in awkward positions. Occasionally performs work from ladders, platforms, staging, personnel lifts, and personnel baskets which may be suspended from cranes.
- You will be required to obtain and retain computer access.
- This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualification requirements emphasize quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
