Job Title: DevOps Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineering Manager to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Software Configuration team, you will be responsible for leading the development, enforcement, and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large- and small-scale programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products
  • Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable
  • Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database, or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development
  • Design and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development and use
  • Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use
  • Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards
  • Support senior manager in executing the strategy to motivate and ensure a high-performing engineering team
  • People leadership for the software organization, to include performance management, employee engagement, and recognition
  • Apply sound software engineering principles, metrics, and ensure compliance with all published processes and standards in our technical solutions
  • Ensure deliverables meet technical quality, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Manage the staffing profile for a software team of 12+ software engineers and/or modeling and simulation engineers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field with 5 years of computer engineering or software engineering experience, or Master's with 3 years of computer engineering or software engineering, or PhD with 0 years of computer engineering or software engineering experience
  • Must have knowledge of scripting languages
  • Experience with multiple tools and environments (Git, Bitbucket, Jira, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux, and Windows)
  • Experience with one or more software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience with configuration and administration of DevOps tools, CI/CD concepts, and automated build pipelines
  • Experience in development and maintenance of Jenkins Pipelines & scripts
