Child Development Specialist

UPMC Home Health is seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to provide in-home services to children and families in Early Intervention. This position focuses on family coaching to help parents/families support the early developmental needs of their child.
This is a part-time position, Monday-Friday, between 8:00 am-7:00 pm, with scheduling flexibility. Services will be provided in Blair County, with the possibility of services in Centre, Bedford/Somerset counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and teach activities to parents or caregivers to incorporate into typical family routines and play.
- Evaluate enrolled children on an annual basis and report results to the Multi-disciplinary Team to determine continued eligibility for service.
- Endeavor to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to internal/external customers.
- Complete and submit all required documentation within the timeframes dictated by regulations, county/Agency processes, and best practices.
- Respond to families' needs for special services and refer to the Service Coordinator when appropriate.
- Promote teamwork through positive and productive communication with all EI team members.
- Represent and participate in Agency professional and community activities as requested.
- Demonstrate support of Agency mission and philosophy in the delivery of services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Prior experience working with children is preferred.
- Competency in computer skills in a Windows-based environment.
- Ability to perform computer skills in specialized computer applications as needed.
- Access to transportation in the Agency service area with a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and auto liability insurance.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Child CPR required.
- Automotive Insurance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Driver's License.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
- Act 33 with renewal.
- Act 34 with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
