Job Summary

Goodwill Industries of Ashtabula, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facility, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all areas of the facility, including floors, bathrooms, common areas, and private offices.
  • Perform light and heavy cleaning duties, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Responsible for building security, including locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and furnace filters.
  • May use hand or power tools or ladders.
  • Job responsibilities may include moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Job duties may involve setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables, chairs, and other equipment.
  • Report equipment or supply needs and unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Attend training as needed.
  • Follow task checklists in an efficient manner.
  • Be knowledgeable of mixing of cleaning solutions and use of cleaning solutions, including proper Personal Protective Equipment to wear when using chemicals and location of Safety Data Sheets and how to use them.
  • Adhere to safety policies.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
