Special Needs Ministry Liaison

We are seeking a Special Needs Ministry Liaison to join our team at Brentwood Baptist Church. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the strategic and day-to-day operations of our Special Needs Ministry, aligning with the church's mission and vision.
About the RoleThis is a part-time position, requiring 5-25 hours of work per week, including Sunday mornings, occasional evenings, and some tasks that can be completed from home. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with individuals and families impacted by disability.
Key Responsibilities- Sunday Morning Operations: Supervise volunteers and ministry participants during Sunday morning programming, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all.
- Classroom Support: Teach weekly community and enrichment classes in the Rowen Glenn Center, providing a nurturing environment for Embrace Community (adult day program) participants.
- Volunteer Management: Supervise volunteers during Wednesday Night Programming and ensure they have necessary materials and resources to succeed.
- Communication and Coordination: Provide information to teachers/ministry leaders on managing disruptive behaviors, encourage inclusion, and navigate routine changes for Embrace Special Needs Ministry participants.
- Families Support: Serve as a conduit of information from families to the Embrace Special Needs Ministry Team regarding major life events, such as weddings, graduations, or hospitalizations.
- Ministry Care: Collaborate with the Special Needs Ministry Director to provide care to families and volunteers through cards, meal deliveries, and other initiatives.
- Administrative Support: Provide required information to the ministry Administrative Assistant as needed.
- Campus Operations: Coordinate the work of leaders/volunteers and Brentwood facilities staff to maintain cleanliness and organization throughout Rowen Glenn Center.
In addition to the specific responsibilities mentioned above, we seek candidates who possess certain competencies and traits that enhance the effectiveness of our staff. These include individual contribution, team contribution, and self-development skills.
Qualifications and Education- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Education, Psychology, Child Development, or Applied Behavior Analysis) is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience working directly with individuals and families impacted by disability is required.
$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
