Mortgage Lending Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Lending Specialist to join our team at Civista Bank. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their career in mortgage lending.

The Senior Mortgage Lender will be responsible for originating first mortgage loans, promoting the bank and its lending services, and identifying the community's financial needs.

• This role requires frequent travel to solicit loans through referral partners, meet with customers, and complete loan applications.
• You will inform prospective clients of underwriting guidelines and government regulations, screen loan requests, and propose various loan options.
• Promote the bank's special credit programs and participate in local business and community activities.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Five + years of experience in mortgage lending, preferably in a financial institution or loan office setting.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance, or three years equivalent work experience.
• Above average knowledge of banking industry practices, policies, regulations, and laws.
• Solid computer literacy and data entry skills, as well as proficiency in working with spreadsheets and creating formulas.
• A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities/projects with varied deadlines.

This position requires frequent travel, and you must be comfortable working away from the office. The role involves lifting and moving loan files, and some travel is required to attend meetings, trainings, and real estate office visits.

$80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
