Salary and Benefits

Job Description
The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing excellent patient service and creating a tranquil environment for examinations
- Identifying anatomical orientation on images and assuring proper file identification
- Demonstrating competency in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operating related equipment
- Greeting patients, obtaining history, and entering information into computer systems
- Scanning according to guidelines and maintaining logs and paperwork for biopsies
- Maintaining quality standards and adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Responsible for all clinical aspects of the ultrasonography suite, including maintaining cleanliness and stocking medical supplies
- Assisting with the completion of accreditation processes and maintaining CPR certification
- Observing patient vital signs during examinations and providing coverage as needed
- Providing instruction and mentoring to new hires and ensuring a positive patient experience
- Maintaining communication with radiologists, physicians, and patients' families
- Consistently submitting high-quality images and performing quality assurance on images and equipment
- Contributing to efficient out-patient operations and maximizing productivity
- Reviewing examinations for technical accuracy and communicating pertinent data
- Demonstrating teamwork and interacting positively with colleagues
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a course in Ultrasonic Technology
- RDMS Certification
- 2+ years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees
- Ability to use departmental computer systems and associated devices
Location and Work Environment
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting patients weighing up to 300 pounds. A calm and composed demeanor is essential for working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
