Michigan Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University of Michigan. About the Role

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $125,605 - $193,013 per year, along with an attractive benefits package that includes flexible health, dental, and vision plans, retirement savings plans with 2:1 matching, group term life insurance, long-term disability plan, generous time off allowances, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality inpatient care to pediatric patients admitted to Pediatric Gastroenterology services, including liver and kidney transplant patients and those on dialysis.
  • Direct patient care and management involve performing histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, attending team-based rounds, processing discharges, documenting, and developing a plan of care both independently and in coordination with Pediatric Gastroenterology team members.
  • Interact with other subspecialties and consult services to optimize patient care, stabilize and transfer patients to Pediatric ICU when necessary, and provide patient and family counseling, education, and support.
Required Qualifications
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
  • Specialty certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan or current specialty certification as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan with two years of inpatient pediatric APP experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
  • DEA license.
  • AHA Approved BLS and PALS.
  • Two years of clinical experience in pediatrics.
