About the Role:

The Employer Engagement Consultant will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of companies and organizations to advance the recruitment of George Mason University's undergraduate and graduate students into meaningful internships and full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate relationships with employers, including alumni representatives, to increase recruitment opportunities for Mason students.
  • Collaborate with university partners, academic departments, and the Mason alumni community to advance employer relationships and recruitment efforts.
  • Facilitate opportunities for employers to network with students on and off campus, including evening information sessions and events.
  • Manage existing employer relationships to deepen recruiting efforts and ensure a meaningful recruiting experience.
  • Communicate with employers to assess recruiting priorities and results, and offer creative ways to advance recruiting on and off campus.
  • Identify opportunities to increase hiring of graduate and undergraduate students with employers in new job functions.
  • Attend and support on-campus recruiting events hosted by employers.
  • Coordinate research on emerging industries, new companies, and recruiting trends to effectively engage prospective employers.
  • Collaborate with key partners to strategically engage prospective employers and establish recruiting relationships.
  • Travel to meet with employer representatives at their locations, as well as conferences and other networking events.
  • Increase employer presence on campus through participation in career fairs, special programs, and networking events.
  • Regularly collaborate with Career Services roles to connect and assign employers to career events.
  • Assist in planning employer engagement events and track and report related data and trends.
  • Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to share employer trends and industry/workforce data.
  • Collaborate with employers and alumni to develop, implement, and attend opportunities for students to engage on-site with organizations across the country.
  • Track interactions and progress with employer engagement efforts and prepare reports to present and distribute.
  • Meet regularly with faculty and University partners to communicate industry, employer, and recruiting trends.
  • Support staffing needs for large-scale events, both in-person and virtually.
  • Contribute to UCS strategic plan development and implementation.
  • Serve on division/university committees to represent UCS.
  • Serve as liaison to university departments as appropriate.
  • Participate in all-staff meetings, trainings, and symposia for UCS and the division.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in business development, sales, client management, talent acquisition, career services, or a related field.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with clients leading to sustained partnerships.
  • Demonstrated advanced customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and advance relationships with new organizations/businesses/clients.
