Caregiver Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Caregiver Support Specialist at Meadowview of Johnston in Johnston, IA. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.
The estimated salary for this position is $38,000 - $42,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job Description:
- Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personalized assistance with grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility as needed.
- Medication Management: Assist residents with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed medication schedules under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
- Meal Preparation and Dining Assistance: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences. Assist residents during meal times, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
- Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in resident rooms and common areas. Perform routine housekeeping tasks and assist with laundry services.
- Social and Recreational Activities: Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Assist with organizing recreational events and outings.
- Transportation Assistance: Provide transportation services for residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, and recreational activities as needed.
- Companionship and Emotional Support: Foster meaningful relationships with residents, offering companionship, empathy, and emotional support.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of services provided, resident observations, and any incidents or changes in condition. Report concerns or observations to appropriate staff members.
- Safety and Emergency Response: Ensure the safety and security of residents by promptly addressing any safety hazards or emergency situations. Follow established protocols for emergency response and crisis management.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other staff members, including nurses, caregivers, and administrative personnel, to deliver comprehensive care and support to residents.
- Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Participate in training programs and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in eldercare and assisted living practices.
Physical Demands:
This role requires standing and walking frequently throughout the day, lifting weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, and using hands constantly. The ability to adjust focus, close-, distance-, peripheral-vision, and depth perception is also essential.
