About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Administrative Coordinator to provide comprehensive support to the Department of Biology at Johns Hopkins University. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative support to department administrators and faculty members, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Triage administrative requests made via phone, email, or in-person, responding independently to inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Oversee department events, such as symposiums, seminars, and colloquies, including venue research, catering arrangements, and event logistics.
  • Manage department resources, including Zoom accounts, virtual events, and web design applications.
  • Perform data collection and reporting tasks, updating department websites, email listservs, and social media sites.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Three years of related experience, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and FileMaker.
  • Excellent typing, organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
