Heavy Haul Driver

As a Heavy Haul Driver with Associates Asset Recovery, you will be responsible for transporting goods from one location to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks. This role requires a high level of skill and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver goods via a heavy truck, navigating intercity routes and multiple states.
- Load and unload cargo with precision and care.
- Record and track the amount and type of cargo being delivered.
- Take orders for new deliveries and communicate with dispatchers.
- Drive long distances, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck, including fueling, cleaning, and washing windows.
- Report any incidents or issues to the dispatcher.
- Monitor road conditions and traffic congestion.
- Inspect the trailer before and after each trip, recording any defects.
- Follow accident procedures and protocols.
- Keep a log of activities and report serious mechanical problems.
- Ensure the truck and associated equipment are clean and in good working order.
- Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
- Deliver goods to clients on time and in excellent condition.
- Take regular rest periods during long trips.
- Exercise caution and take special precautions while driving.
As a Heavy Haul Driver, you must be able to perform the following physical demands for extended periods with or without assistance. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities on a case-by-case basis.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motion, reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use for several hours at a time.
- Work may require standing or sitting for several hours, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs.
- Must have perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
- Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances.
- A valid CDL Class A is required, and you must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by our insurance company.
- A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required.
