Academic Assistant Position for Agriculture Department

Job Summary:
This student worker position will assist agriculture faculty with general needs in the Agriculture Department. The role involves supporting instructors with course organization, events setup, and grading assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize materials, supplies, and equipment for lectures and labs.
- Assist with classroom and greenhouse maintenance.
- Support instructors with grading assignments and discussions.
- Prepare chemical solutions and assemble necessary materials and equipment for lab setups.
- Help with event preparation and setup, such as CTE Day and Agriculture Club activities.
- Attend school special events as required.
- Assist with administrative duties, including communicating with local partners and preparing classroom resources.
- Follow school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be a student of Klamath Community College and have been awarded federal work-study on their FAFSA.
- Must have successfully completed Environmental Science ENV 170.
- Good communication and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently is essential.
- Computer literacy with experience in standard office equipment and Canvas Software is necessary.
- Ability to follow proper precautions and safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
Educational Requirements:
- No prior experience or education is required for this position.
Estimated Salary: $13.70 per hour, based on the job description and location.
Work Environment and Conditions:
- The work environment is indoors, requiring sitting, standing, walking, and pushing/pulling carts.
