Benesch is seeking a highly skilled Railroad Bridge Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Railroad Structural-Bridge group, you will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the Railroad group. Your expertise in project management, resource planning, and client engagement will be essential in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project scope, schedule, and budget estimates
  • Identify resources needed and effectively delegate staff duties and responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project management
  • Create and execute project work plans
  • Analyze accounting reports and project schedules for variances
  • Monitor work for adherence to project scope and identify out-of-scope actions
  • Prepare and submit project reports to your assigned Group and/or Division Manager
  • Participate in contract negotiations
  • Establish client contact and maintain positive relationships
  • Serve as the primary interface between railroad clients and staff for a given project
  • Coordinate, monitor, and review work performed by sub-consultants
  • Promote the team environment and communication, and identify and address team conflicts
  • Network, including active participation in and leadership of professional organizations
Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering required
  • PE License required
  • Minimum of 10 years of railway structural engineering experience
  • Project Management experience required
  • Client interaction experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of AREMA Manual, Microstation, RISA 3D, or similar programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with internal staff, clients, contractors, agencies, and the public
  • Practice good time management skills, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently within time constraints while dealing with numerous concurrent activities
  • Willingness to travel to project/work sites as necessary
