Arborist Crew Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arborist Crew Leader to join our team at Vermont Employer. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for leading a tight-knit team and creating a positive team environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting tree trimming, removal, and spraying orders initiated by the General Foreman or customer representative.
• Performing Pre-Job Hazard Surveys at each job site with all crew members and assigning work tasks based on individual knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Leading a crew in performing line clearing and tree trimming duties for Vermont Employer's utility customers, including pruning treetops and limbs, trimming or removal of at-risk/damaged trees, and removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, etc.
• Maintaining and operating all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Mixing and applying spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation.

Requirements include:

• Ability to lead people with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques.
• Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE.
• Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, line equipment, etc.
• Ability to operate two-handed equipment, such as chain saws and circular saws.
• Valid driver's license, CDL, and/or medical certificate required for the vehicle being operated.
