Kiddie Academy of Swedesboro seeks a skilled and dedicated Lead Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a vital member of our staff, you will provide classroom support to our Lead Teachers, ensuring a seamless learning experience for our students.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing materials, interacting with students, and supervising projects under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. Your role will also involve assisting in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children, adhering to our established policies and procedures.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Assist and supervise children during all activities, promoting a safe and engaging environment.
  • Develop plans and prepare instructional aids and materials for classroom activities, as needed.
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom, adhering to NAEYC guidelines.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional needs of the children are met daily.
  • Assist with preparation and implementation of classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
  • Contribute to maintaining accurate records, including daily notes, accident reports, and attendance reports.
  • Participate in workshops, conferences, and in-service training, as requested.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the Lead Teacher or Academy Director.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Meet all state and local licensing requirements for the position.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years old (or be enrolled in a high school work-study program related to childcare).
  • Complete required training hours per state licensing requirements each calendar year.
  • Pass all necessary medical requirements and have a clear background check.
Benefits and Schedule

We offer a competitive compensation package, including paid time off and professional development assistance. The successful candidate will work on a part-time basis, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime. A one-year teaching or childcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Salary: $12.50-$15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Estimated annual salary: $25,000-$31,200.
