Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Coordinator to join our team at the University of the Pacific. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing insurance claims, auditing patient charts, and performing other related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process daily audits of patient health records to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and generate insurance claims for submission.
  • Respond to requests from insurance companies for additional information and/or required documentation.
  • Post and allocate insurance payments timely and accurately.
  • Initiate refund requests to insurance companies due to incorrect processing of claims.
  • Generate and review accounts receivables reports to determine collectable balances and resolve appropriately.
  • Communicate insurance and policy requirements to internal and external clinics.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years insurance billing experience in a high-volume dental setting.
  • Knowledge of advanced private dental/medical insurance billing policies and procedures.
  • Basic accounting/billing procedures and intermediate level dental terminology and treatment planning.
  • Electronic health records software and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
