Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401k plan, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a board-certified ophthalmologist to lead our team in providing exceptional patient care and advancing the field of ophthalmology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing advanced surgical procedures, diagnosing and treating eye diseases and injuries, and managing emergency eye clinics or outpatient clinics.

Requirements
  • Board certification in ophthalmology (or eligibility within 5 years of completing residency)
  • Successful completion of an internship and residency in ophthalmology
  • Fellowship training in glaucoma (required)
  • Active and unrestrictive medical license, preferably in Virginia (willingness to obtain if not already licensed)
  • Expert working knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the eye
  • Strong physics and math skills, excellent medical knowledge, and good administrative and managerial skills
Physical and Cognitive Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amounts of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. They must also have close visual acuity to perform activities that require viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, interpretation, etc. Additionally, they must be able to maintain concentration/focus on tasks, perform tasks independently, learn and memorize tasks, and work effectively in a demanding environment.
