Senior Principal Scientist, Translational Medicine OMNI, Cardiovascular and Metabolism Diseases

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Scientist to join our Translational Medicine OMNI, Cardiovascular and Metabolism Diseases team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading preclinical biomarker discovery and development efforts to support research programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Research to develop and implement biomarker strategies for early and late-stage clinical development.
- Lead the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of biomarker results to inform clinical trial design and decision-making.
- Collaborate with global development teams to address key questions during late-stage clinical development, including product differentiation, indication expansion, and patient response.
- Participate in or initiate external collaborations to advance our understanding of disease pathogenesis and patient heterogeneity.
- Serve as the biomarker lead on cross-functional project teams and internal review committees.
- Collaborate with internal partners, including Research, Bioanalytical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Preclinical and Clinical Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Regulatory, and Bioinformatics.
Requirements:
- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in Endocrinology, Cell Biology, Physiology, or related fields with 6+ years post-doctoral, fellowship, or industry experience.
- Experience in preclinical and clinical sample collection/processing and cellular/molecular lab techniques, including cell culture, primary cell isolation, immunostaining, molecular biology, ELISA, western blot, flow cytometry, genomic sequencing, qRT-PCR, and/or transcriptomics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in leading R&D teams and fostering internal collaborations and partnerships with academic universities.
- Ability to develop hypotheses, direct lab scientists, develop analysis plans, interpret, and present results.
- Preferred candidates will have prior biostatistics or bioinformatics experience with programming skills in Python or R.
