Job Summary:

The Outside Plant Permitting Engineer will support the design of outside plant fiber optic networks using CAD/3GIS and design processes. This role involves creating complex CAD designs, preparing drawings or schematics for outside plant systems, equipment, and structures, and assembling designs in the most cost-effective method. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CAD/3GIS software, fiber optic designs, and outside plant surveying. Additionally, experience with 3GIS, permit drawings, and construction level prints is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create complex CAD designs utilizing numerous layers and blocks
• Prepare drawings or schematics for outside plant systems, equipment, and structures
• Assemble designs in the most cost-effective method
• Create permit drawings for City, County, DOT, and MOT permits
• Create underground bore profile drawings and/or aerial pole data tables

Requirements:

• Four-year degree from an accredited engineering program
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with 3GIS
• Minimum of 1 year of combined experience of fiber optic designs
• Strong understanding of CAD/3GIS software and fiber optic designs
• Experience with outside plant surveying and permit drawings
