Job Overview

Plexos Group is seeking a Public Assistance/Grant Management Specialist to join our team. This role requires strong project management skills and experience in grant administration, financial analysis, and public or business administration.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop program objectives, work plans, and subgrant budgets for subrecipients.
  • Support clients and sub-recipients regarding program administration, policies, procedures, resolve related issues and concerns, and ensure uniformity in grant and contract management.
  • Collect and analyze damage assessment data to support state requests for federal assistance.
  • Assist experienced Liaisons and Project Managers in obtaining and recording accurate project work records.
  • Participate in the establishment and operation of Disaster Recovery Centers, which may require travel.
  • Promote disaster assistance programs to various stakeholders.
  • Learn and communicate technical advice and support to state and local agencies, voluntary organizations, and community leaders.
  • Assess, manage, and evaluate project worksheets and timelines.
  • In coordinate with experienced Liaisons, ensure sub recipient compliance with FEMA and State requirements.
  • Review and monitor project cost and approve budget justifications and budget revisions.
  • Prepare accurate requests and periodic reports for payment from state, federal, and other grant sources.
  • Determine applicant eligibility for award based on established criteria.
  • Manage and monitor the implementation, management, evaluation, and close-out of projects according to rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in project management, financial or program compliance, public or business administration, real estate, commercial construction, insurance adjusting, emergency management, or another directly related field.
  • Ability to learn and effectively apply working knowledge of government organizations, operations, and emergency management programs at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Must exemplify the firm's core mission and values.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, and an ability to establish and maintain effective working/professional relationships.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and able to prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or timeliness.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Salary Information

We offer an annual salary of $85,000 - $110,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
