Optum, a leading innovator in preventative healthcare, is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead the CareCoach Connect program in West Texas. As a partner of the Optum Care network, WellMed Medical Group, you will oversee a team of Advanced Practice Clinicians and physicians to deliver longitudinal and episodic medical care to Medicare-aged patients on a Medicare Advantage plan.

About the Role
  • Provide oversight to a team of clinicians, including MAs, RNs, Social Workers, LVNs, and Advance Practice Clinicians (APCs)
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and subspecialists to manage patient care
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in chronic medical conditions management, hospice, and palliative care medicine
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and conduct standardized Interdisciplinary Team meetings (IDTs)
About the Benefits

The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree, with board certification from ABMS or ABOS specialty board in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. A valid DEA license and active, unrestricted medical license in Texas are also required. The salary range for this role is $250,000 - $350,000 per year, plus an annual quality incentive with a target of $50,000.
