Job Overview
Vermont State University is seeking a highly skilled Regional Coach to join our Career Technical Teacher Education Program (CTTEP). As a Regional Coach, you will play a critical role in enhancing the capabilities and knowledge of first-year teachers at Career and Technical (CTE) centers across the state.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for conducting classroom observations, facilitating field observations, and providing guidance and support to new teachers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular classroom observations and post-observation reflection meetings with new teachers
- Facilitate field observations and provide feedback to improve teaching practices
- Meet with new teachers to discuss topics assigned by the CTTEP Director
- Communicate effectively with new teachers and provide general support as needed
- Attend professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in education
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- At least four years of successful teaching experience, preferably at a CTE center
- Evidence of CTE Teaching Endorsement preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an instructional mentor or coach
- Strong knowledge of best instructional practices, CTE curriculum, and proficiency standards
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $63,000-$75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Vermont State University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
