Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Distributor Sales Manager to develop and execute strategic plans that drive partnerships and growth in the US & Canada. This role will optimize our network of indirect channels to foster an environment where distributors focus on selling our full range of products and services, driving financial success for both companies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Partner with distributor company leadership to implement strategies that satisfy long-term objectives.
- Maintain and build indirect channel networks to support all product lines and services.
- Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans to ensure the success of indirect channels.
- Build and sustain relationships with distributors and end-users across various organizational levels.
- Lead a distributor sales team to provide technical consulting and recommend best-fit products and services.
- Coordinate resources to train distributor personnel and support customer projects involving our products.
- Respond promptly to needs and requests from the indirect channel network.
- Collaborate with production, laboratory, technical service, and management functions to create solutions.
- Establish annual goals with top distributors to support corporate initiatives.
- Provide sales forecasts to support operational and financial budgeting.
- Drive and maximize revenue in alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for growth and develop action plans with distributor leaders.
- Develop pricing strategies to optimize volume and profitability.
- Assess performance of each indirect partner and the network as a whole.
- Communicate changes in pricing, terms, delivery dates, etc., to partners.
- Keep partners informed of new product offerings and market knowledge/trends.
- Prepare and submit requests for competitive pricing, customer concern reports, etc.
- Prepare reports on sales activities, customer action plans, KPIs, market trends, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, metallurgy, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of metal casting processes, markets, and the overall business environment in the foundry industry.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in distributor sales, related business segments, or technical sales management.
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams without direct authority.
- Experience with customers using documented qualification processes (PPAP, Military, etc.).
- Self-motivated with strong execution skills in dynamic environments.
- Adaptability and strategic decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Office 365, knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).
- Ability to travel 70% (USA and Canada), valid driver's license, passport, and acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Location: Remote, with extensive travel throughout the USA and Canada. Candidate must reside in the U.S., Midwest preferred.
Work Environment: A combination of home office and industrial environments. The incumbent will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Safety apparel and equipment are required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Fieldwork involves working in extreme weather conditions and physical tasks such as handling equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in support of field work.
