Maintenance Craftsman

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Journeyman to join our team at International Paper in Beaverton, OR. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, as well as troubleshooting and resolving electrical and mechanical issues.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, including breakdowns and malfunctions.
• Plan and execute projects, including obtaining cost estimates and coordinating with supervisors.
• Provide training and guidance to colleagues in areas of expertise.
• Respond to work orders and assist supervisors in ordering parts and developing preventative maintenance programs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the installation of new equipment and facilities improvements.
• Work safely and maintain compliance with company quality systems and safety policies.

• Experience and knowledge in electrical circuit troubleshooting, PLC programming, electronics, ARC flash, plumbing, steam and boiler, pneumatics, confined space, mobile equipment, and Mig and Tig welding.
• Ability to adapt to change, problem solve, and prioritize work.
• Ability to stand for periods of a minimum of 3 hours, bend, squat, and kneel frequently, and lift average weighted materials up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, and piping diagrams.
• High School diploma or equivalent, and Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocation Certificate preferred.
