Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to verify customer and order information for accuracy, and provide excellent customer service. A top-notch Order Clerk will establish strong relationships with customers and keep them informed about the status of their orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process customer orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Obtain and verify customer and order information, and enter it correctly into the system.
  • Notify departments when supplies are low or when orders could deplete available supplies.
  • Inform customers about prices, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays.
  • Prepare and send invoices, shipping documents, and contracts.
  • Forward information to the correct departments for delivery of the order.
  • Inspect outgoing orders to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Review orders for completeness and forward incomplete orders for further processing.
  • Liaise with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or delivery personnel to trace or accelerate shipments.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience in a similar field is preferred.
  • SAP MM experience is preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheet software, and database applications.
  • Willingness to receive on-the-job training.
  • An excellent rapport with customers.
  • The ability to handle customer complaints in a professional and calm manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Superb time management skills and the ability to coordinate team activities.
