Job Summary

The Sanitation Technician is a crucial member of our team at Richmond Baking, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout our factory and equipment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the production of safe and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of production lines, equipment, and facilities
• Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the general production areas
• Verify all processes and Critical Control Points to guarantee safe and high-quality products
• Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment, baking equipment, and utensils
• Operate floor scrubbers to clean concrete flooring
• Sweep and mop work areas, maintain cleanliness of restrooms, lunchroom, and training room
• Discard all corrugate cardboard, inedible food, and other packing material
• Clean and sanitize bodily fluid spills following established Bloodborne Pathogen Training
• Clean and sanitize all types of drains; manage water on floors
• Clean the exterior portion of premises; snow and ice removal on exterior portion of the plant

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred
• Two to six years related experience and/or training in manufacturing or distribution companies; Food industry background a plus
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common articles and documents
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or concerns from co-workers and management
• Ability to write legibly and complete necessary paperwork and documentation
• Ability to effectively present information to management, union personnel, and third-party representatives

Working Conditions

• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Process improvement and detail-oriented, preferred
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds and smell or taste

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role has no supervisory responsibilities, but may be utilized as a trainer intermittently.
