We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthotic Fitter or Certified Prosthetist Assistant to join our team at Hanger, Inc. As an Orthotic Fitter or Certified Prosthetist Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing patients' lives by supplying essential medical equipment and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with orthotic practitioners in the evaluation and analysis of patients' needs for orthotic services.
- Examine and evaluate patients' needs in relation to disease and functional loss.
- Perform fitting and execute minor modifications, as necessary.
- Evaluate orthotic devices on patients, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
- Instruct patients in the use of orthopedic devices.
- Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
- Follow up with patients and physicians.
- Provide in-service training to physicians and allied healthcare professionals.
- Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
- Assist other clinical staff.
- Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Employee must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Allied Health Professionals: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Athletic Trainer (ATC), etc.
- Orthotic, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), or Soft Goods Fitter
- Medical Assistant
- Willingness to verify all clinical activities with certified clinical personnel.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Hand skills necessary to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of biomechanical principles.
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patients and staff.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan for the purpose of meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
