Veterinary Practice Operations Manager

Proudly serving the Athens community for over 30 years, our veterinarians and staff are dedicated to protecting the health and wellness of your companion through preventive medicine and lifestyle-based care.
To further enhance the wellness of pets in our community, we collaborate with regional animal rescue organizations, including Athens Canine Rescue, PAWS, Athens Area Humane Society, Athens Clarke County Animal Shelter, and Oconee County Animal Control.
Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager oversees all essential business functions in the veterinary practice and supports the practice teams.
The Practice Manager works in partnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and effective team management.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the practice has engaged and productive teams driving high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.
Additionally, the Practice Manager must have a deep understanding of how a business works, including its financial, operational, and sales results.
Effective data analysis, evaluation, and decision-making are essential skills for this role.
Strategic thinking and planning are critical components of financial forecasting, marketing plans, and long-term growth strategies for the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
The Practice Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing expenses, including drugs and supplies, labor, and facility costs
- Establishing and executing performance evaluations
- Developing and maintaining internal operating procedures for the administration of the practice
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and laws
- Partnering with the MDVM to ensure team members adhere to practice operating procedures
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous veterinary medicine experience
- Ability to work on weekends when needed
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
- Computer skills, including MS Office applications
