Laboratory Scientist

EMSL Analytical is seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join their team in a challenging role as an Asbestos Analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences and experience in laboratory settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis of bulk, air, water, and soil samples for asbestos content using PLM, PCM, and TEM.
• Determine visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos materials.
• Record data accurately and maintain quality control procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a life science field, such as Geology, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, or Chemistry.
• Light microscopy and optical mineralogy/petrographic microscope training is a plus.
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
• Candidate must be able to distinguish colors and work independently and as part of a team.
