**Job Title:** Transportation Specialist - Bald Head Island

 

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Specialist to join our team at Bald Head Island Transportation, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of customers between the ferry landing and various island locations.

 

Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tram in a safe and courteous manner, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Drive tram between ferry landing and island locations, following approved tariff schedules and coordinating with ferry arrivals and departures
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatching personnel and other employees to ensure timely arrivals and departures
  • Clean and maintain the tram daily, performing routine maintenance tasks and making minor repairs as needed
  • Pick up trash and debris in and around the ferry terminal, and assist outfitters with special group transportation and baggage handling when required

 

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent, with one year of experience in operating a commercial bus or related vehicle
  • Possession of a valid Class C North Carolina driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
