Job Summary

The Elementary Administrative Assistant provides primary clerical and administrative support in an elementary school. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to provide comprehensive support to our elementary school staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clerical work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the elementary school staff, including but not limited to:

* Receiving office visitors, furnishing information, and maintaining good public relations
* Operating the building intercom system
* Making and keeping records of appointments and conferences
* Typing from rough drafts or instructions a variety of materials such as letters, memoranda, bulletins, requisitions, claims, masters, stencils, reports, and statistical data
* Sorting and routing mail

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Three years of clerical experience or equivalent education may be considered in lieu of related work experience
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire confidence and cooperation of staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public

Preferred Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are preferred but not required:

* Knowledge of first-aid
* Ability to operate common office equipment and be proficient in computer use, both Macintosh and Windows, with experience in a variety of programs and applications including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
* Ability to type accurately at an acceptable rate of speed
* Ability to plan and implement clerical transaction accountability and controls
* Knowledge of office practices, procedures, office machines, and filing systems
* Knowledge of ASD computer systems such as Zangle, IFAS, EmpCenter, or Aesop Absence Management

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $21.43 to $22.39 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
