Student Transportation of America is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a School Bus Monitor in Newtown, CT. This part-time position requires assisting the driver with the safe management of students on board the vehicle, performing various duties to ensure student safety and well-being.
CompensationThe estimated hourly rate for this position is $17.34 per hour, with a possibility of 25-35 hours per week. This translates to an estimated weekly income of $433 - $607 and approximately $22,416 - $31,584 per year.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain student safety at all times during transportation, including monitoring passengers and ensuring the bus is clean and organized.
- Assist students in entering and exiting the bus safely, performing safety checks, and communicating any issues to the driver or management as needed.
- Perform emergency evacuations from the bus, utilizing proper procedures and protocols.
- Conduct regular safety checks on the bus, ensuring it is free from hazards and properly maintained.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student behavior and incidents.
