Rhode Island School of Design seeks a skilled instructor to lead our Pre-College Drawing Foundations program.

We welcome teaching artists with a strong background in drawing and experience developing courses that challenge students creatively and intellectually. As a member of our faculty, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of artists and designers.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, teaching experience in a collegiate and/or high school setting, and a proven track record of generating high-quality student work. They will be able to tailor instruction to meet the needs of students with a wide range of pre-existing skills and keep them engaged throughout full-day studio courses.

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about art and design, approachable yet maintains high expectations, and invested in their students' success. Our instructors vary their approach using lectures, demonstrations, and more, connecting course content to students' lived experience and current events.

This position offers a competitive salary, estimated around $80,000 annually, based on national averages for similar positions in the United States.
