Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Lead Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Kent Hospital. This is a key leadership role that requires strong clinical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality respiratory care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the manager with administrative tasks, overseeing the Respiratory Care Department, and providing clinical supervision to evening and morning shifts' respiratory therapy personnel. Key responsibilities include scheduling, directing, and assigning employees' workflow activities, monitoring and evaluating staff performances, and orienting and training new employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, direct, and assign employees' workflow activities in the department, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performances, providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve skills and productivity.
  • Orient and train new employees, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge and competencies to provide high-quality respiratory care.
  • Function as a clinical resource person, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to respiratory therapy staff, responding to respiratory-related issues and concerns from interdisciplinary team members.
  • Communicate new and revised policies and procedures, ensuring continuity of care between all shifts, compliance with regulatory standards, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate educational needs of staff, coordinate in-service activities, and participate in interdisciplinary in-services opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics to optimize patient outcomes, department efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Perform patient care assignments as scheduled, and in times of increased workload and reduced staffing, to maintain safe staffing levels.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field (degree may be in progress).
  • Minimum of three years job-related experience.
  • Current RI Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC RRT credential.

A competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, is offered for this exciting opportunity.
