Habilitation Assistant

About the Company:

Central Florida Communities Inc provides Adult Day Training facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our programs offer interactive and educational classes that teach participants everyday tasks.

Staff work with participants to manage money, cook meals, perform household cleaning, use computers, follow health and safety procedures, learn social skills, and participate in art and music expression.

The focus is on helping individuals reach their personal maximum potential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with assessment and evaluation of each client.
• Implement and document training needs, including acquisition programming, data collection, and behavior observations/management procedures.
• Participate in in-services for skill acquisition training, behavior management programming, group management, and day treatment standards.
• Work cooperatively with therapists to ensure implementation of therapy programs.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate a facility vehicle and maintain a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year experience working in a related field.
• College or vocational/technical training equal to 30 semester hours can substitute for the required experience.

Working Conditions:

• Standard use of work station.
• Repetitive use of keyboard.
• Frequent bending and standing.
• Constant noise environments.
