Transportation Procurement Specialist

The role of Carrier Sales Representative is a key position in our brokerage team, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Cultivate strong relationships with core carriers while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight.
- Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process.
- Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary.
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times, using discretion and insight when considering factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.
- Follow established procedures and protocols regarding HVS and HRC loads to ensure the integrity of the shipment and the RXO brand.
- Accurately maintain and update information in the company's operating systems.
- Conduct research in available databases for potential leads; make cold calls to prospects.
- Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate.
In this role, you will be supported by a passionate team motivated by fast-paced innovation and the desire to deliver exceptional results. We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, plus benefits such as health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, disability, employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, and tuition reimbursement program.
Requirements:- 1 year of procurement experience required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience preferred.
- 1 year of transportation experience and 2 years of sales or customer service experience highly valued.
- Judgment and discretion skills essential for independent functioning within authorized limits.
