Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and record patient data, medical history, and vital signs
  • Prepare patients for treatment procedures, including setting up sterile fields and chaperoning
  • Administer medication, including parenteral and oral medications
  • Perform routine non-invasive treatment procedures, such as saturation and urine dipsticks
  • Enter data into computer systems and verify accuracy
  • Provide basic cashiering duties and collect monies for various activities
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Program Graduate or 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and rotate shifts
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a clinical setting with potential exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals. PPE will be provided as necessary.
