Network Development Engineer
At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we are building the intelligent future of cloud. Our team is focused on delivering reliable and high-performance cloud services to our customers.
This role is aligned to the Government/Sovereign and ONSR key priority. As a Network Development Engineer, you will be part of the Cloud Network Operations Center (CNOC) Infrastructure networking team, responsible for building and managing services that comprehensively model, provision, secure, scale, and operate OCI networks.
The CNOC Networking team owns all the connectivity between the CNOCs, the ONSR realms, and management network for the customer IXPs. Driving efficiencies in network design and improving our operationalization of CNOC network infrastructure is critical to continuing to scale the network without having to scale the headcount for ongoing support.
This role requires a strong background in network engineering, with experience in scripting or automation and datacenter design. You will work with our team to develop and implement network automation solutions, using tools such as Python, to represent arbitrarily complex datacenter networks and subsequently build, interconnect, and scale these networks.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network automation solutions to model, provision, secure, scale, and operate OCI networks.
- Develop and maintain network configuration management tools to ensure consistency and reliability across the network.
- Collaborate with the CNOC Networking team to drive efficiencies in network design and improve operationalization of CNOC network infrastructure.
- Work with our team to develop and implement network monitoring and telemetry solutions to ensure real-time visibility into network performance.
Requirements:
- US Government active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in CS or related engineer field, or Masters with 2+ years Network Engineer experience.
- Experience with scripting or automation and datacenter design.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent judgment in influence for product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting and engineering networks that rely on common industry relevant protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, ZTP, VPN, and SSL.
- Experience working with UNIX and Linux operating systems, to include scripting and automation of tasks.
- Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment.
- Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems.
- Experience with network configuration management.
