Construction Worker

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at J.D. Abrams, LP. As a Laborer, you will assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties, ensuring the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Tend to pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power to the jobsite.
- Mix ingredients to create compounds used to cover or clean surfaces.
- Load and unload trucks and haul materials.
- Erect temporary structures.
- Measure distances for areas to be graded, or on which to erect structures.
- Position, join, and seal structural compounds.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as sawing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring and braces, mounting pipe hangers, cutting, and attaching insulation material, etc.
- Places and vibrates freshly poured concrete. May mix concrete or mortar using portable mixer.
- Mops, brushes or spreads paint or bituminous compounds over surfaces and applies caulking compound by hand or with caulking gun to seal surfaces.
- Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies, levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line.
- Grinds, sands and polishes surfaces such as concrete or wood.
- Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Perform job clean-up.
- When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical demands of the job include regular exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat, as well as frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high and/or precarious places.
