Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AML Supervisor to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. As a key member of our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Operations team, you will be responsible for supervising various AML processes, including suspicious activity investigations, currency transaction reporting, global sanctions screening, and enhanced due diligence.

About the Role

The AML Supervisor will work closely with AML Process Managers to perform critical functions and plan and conduct processes related to anti-money laundering and global sanction activities. Additionally, you will manage the workflow of the AML analysis team and coach your colleagues on AML processes through training and education.

Responsibilities
  1. Operational Management & Training: Supervise daily workflow and operational metrics of the AML Operations team and assist with training in Regulatory Operations and business areas.
  2. Policy & Procedure Impact: Contribute to internal AML Operations projects related to policy/procedure modification and assess new business acquisitions to determine work flow into AML Operations units.
  3. Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance on draft Suspicious Activity Reports, sanctions reviews, CTRs, EDD reviews, or other AML processes.
  4. Escalation Handling: Handle escalated issues as appropriate for advanced investigation and analysis.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Assess internal trends, external regulatory and law enforcement environments to make recommendations on risk areas and alter or add typologies in business areas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years of investigative experience, or at least 2 years of AML experience within financial services, or at least 2 years of risk experience or at least 2 years of compliance experience
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 2+ years of people management experience
    • 3+ years of AML experience within financial services
    • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification, or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification, or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification
