Nexus Brewery + Smokehouse Seeking Talented Cook

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Nexus Brewery + Smokehouse. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes for our restaurant guests.

You will be passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through good, quality food. With previous experience as a cook, you will be able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive kitchen atmosphere. Ideally, you have your ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about cooking and providing great customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Food Safety and Quality Control: Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Cooking and Preparation: Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience, and turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
  • Guest Service: Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred.
  • Certifications: ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification (or must be willing to attain).
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 30+ lbs and work standing for 8+ hours.
