Job Overview
We're seeking an experienced social studies teacher to join our upper elementary or middle school team for the 2024-25 school year. This is a full-time, salaried position with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cohesive Common Core-aligned curriculum materials and instructional goals grounded in research
- Prepare standards-based lessons that challenge students' critical thinking and encourage creativity
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate multiple learning styles and abilities
- Assess students' academic and developmental growth through observation and various assessment methods
- Track and monitor assessment results to refine teaching practices and design differentiated lesson plans
- Create a positive learning environment that promotes high expectations and student engagement
- Communicate with students, parents, and school staff to ensure students are on-track in their learning and making progress towards goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree preferred
- Two or more years of teaching experience as an elementary or middle school teacher in an urban environment with a strong record of student achievement preferred
- A belief that all students can learn and thrive in a supportive environment
- A desire to be part of a diverse community of educators, scholars, and families
- A strong work ethic, individual drive, and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
Benefits and Compensation
Perry Street Prep offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary range of $60,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience.
