Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct deli department associates to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction and sales growth.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to Hannaford's safety and sanitation standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Assist in training new associates and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage stockroom operations, and maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
  • Perform tasks such as slicing, cutting, weighing, and packaging products according to customer demands.
  • Process merchandise properly, paying attention to rotation of products according to prescribed standards.
  • Develop product knowledge in all areas of the deli department, including meats, cheese, salads, sandwiches, and more.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the department's standard practice manual and its intent.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful as a Deli Department Team Lead at Hannaford Supermarkets, you should possess:

  • The ability to motivate and direct others to achieve exceptional results.
  • An effective interpersonal skillset, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • The ability to meet minimum age requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive grasping, hand and arm motions while standing/walking during the majority of the shift.

Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced retail environment, often standing for extended periods and lifting up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. The ideal candidate will be able to push/pull 3-15 pounds frequently and reach to shoulder level frequently while lifting up to 15 pounds and overhead on occasion.
