Automotive Upfit Specialist

VIP Distributing Company is seeking an experienced Automotive Upfit Specialist to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a full-time, individual contributor role in the auto industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle customization and upfitting, specifically for law enforcement vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and configure emergency vehicle equipment, including lighting, sirens, communication systems, and more
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the installation process
- Ensure all installations comply with industry safety standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work completed
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements in emergency vehicle equipment
- Partner with other departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the upfitting process
- Provide exceptional customer service and support, including onsite training for clients as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in vehicle customization or upfitting, specifically for emergency vehicles
- Strong knowledge of emergency vehicle equipment and installation methods
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems in vehicles
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
